Her english is so easy to understand for me as a non native speaker, if only everyone pronounced like this…great talk!
This is a very good talk with lots of practical and useful info that we can apply daily to our own lives unlike may other talks I've seen on this channel. Most others were nothing more than over and hour of charts and graph and statistics that really have no practical daily use and turned out to be boring and and a waste of time. I do find it rude and annoying that people constantly interrupt with questions. If they would friggin wait I'm sure the questions will be answered at some point during the talk. If not right it down and ask it at the end when she's taking questions.

OK, so this was ten years ago and it was all on a low fat diet and drug company concerned so I would like to know what happened because I don't believe it and would have a hard time believing a low fat diet would help anyone.

After seeing a periodontist for years and doing the flossing and cleaning they recommended my husband showed up at a regularly scheduled visit after just one month on the ketogenic diet. They were astounded at the condition of his mouth and gums. They even admitted to knowing that such a change in diet is great for dental health. Seems to me it’s inflammation (from sugar and carbohydrate) that leads to heart disease, not whether you floss your teeth or not.

48:57 Periodontal disease is a SYMPTOM of inflammation (i.e. hyperinsulinemia) NOT the cause. Resolve the root issue (too many carbs) and periodontal problems and cavities dissipate.

Amazing presentation. I am a researcher and wanted to know more about Dr. Hughes' work. It was sad to find she passed away in June 2015 from cancer. As I thought she looked too young to retire, I could imagine that she was already diagnosed with cancer at the time of this presentation. Knowing this made her passionate sharing of information leading to healthy living priceless. RIP Ellen.
