Serving Size: 25 to 30 makhana per day per person. ( Excessive consumption of lotus seed may lead to constipation )

Ingredients:
Phool Makahana – 1 bowl
Desi ghee – 1&1/2 tsp
Salt – to taste

Method:
1. Heat ghee in a Kadhai, add the makhana and start roasting it for 10 mins on low gas flame.
2. Pop bigger makhana and check it should be crispy then its done else roast for some more time. When it’s done add salt and mix well and turn off gas flame. Makhana is ready to be served with a cup of tea.
3. Cool down completely and store in airtight container.

My Notes:
*If you are planning to roast in bulk then roast it in batches so that they evenly roasted and puffed.
*Store them in a airtight container only when they cool down completely.
*During the entire recipe gas flame should be low.
*You can add black pepper– ¼ tsp with saIt. Salt and pepper also goes well with this namkeen. I added only salt because my kid don’t want pepper.
*You can roast these makhanas for fast ( vrat) also. Just replace Table salt with Sendha Namak.
*You can roast these makhanas without desi ghee, If you want to avoid fat completely. For kids, I always recommend Desi ghee.
