How to make delicious Low Carb Breakfast Sausage

I found this recipe on ginnyslowcarbkitchen.blogspot.com – they don’t have breakfast sausage in Australia and it’s something I really miss. Since I made the cheddar biscuits in my last recipe which can be found here
I thought they would make great breakfast sandwiches so I thought I’d make some home made breakfast sausage. These turned out quite nice and they’re low carb, so do give them a try. They’d be great on their own with some eggs and cheese, cooked and crumbled on pizza, or with the Cheddar Biscuits from the last video.

• 1 pound  ground pork
• 1 1/2 teaspoons  fennel seed
• 1 teaspoon  onion powder
• 1/2 teaspoon  garlic powder
• 1/2 teaspoon  thyme
• 1/4 teaspoon  sage
• 1/4 teaspoon  crushed red pepper
• 1/8 teaspoon  pepper

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl until spices are well incorporated throughout the meat. Chill a couple of hours or overnight to let the flavours blend well.

You can freeze this to use later, brown it for a casserole and add onions to it and/or minced garlic, or shape into patties for breakfast.

Variation:  Use the same seasonings in ground turkey to make turkey sausage.
