Easy Lean Beef Burgers

  • as general rule i always use when cooking with ground beef, i use ground beef that has at least 25% saturated fat. i see no reason for using lean ground beef. Saturated fat does not clog arteries!!!

  • I have an updated recipe for lean beef burgers! You can adjust these quantities as you desire.

    1 to 1 1/4 pound of lean beef
    Egg white from 1 large egg
    2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    2 tablespoons of a good flavorful marinade
    Whatever seasonings you feel like using

    Place meat in mixing bowl before adding egg white, Worcestershire sauce, marinade, and seasonings. Mix well and form patties. Sprinkle seasonings on patties, if desired, and cook. Once the burgers are done, enjoy!

  • How much hamburger meat? You measured the bread crumbs, and left out the most important thing.

  • Since nobody responded, I decided to go ahead and make lean burgers with just the egg whites, and it worked great! Another good tip is to add seasonings into the beef before you form your patties because the first time I did this, although the inside was moist, it was bland. So, my recipe is to take your lean beef, add an egg white, some Worcestershire sauce (optional, but I love the stuff), and whatever seasonings you feel like using, be it salt and pepper or Montreal Steak Seasoning. Once your patties are formed, season the outside and cook.

  • I know that the egg whites are used to provide much-needed moisture, but can you go without the bread crumbs?
