I think the pan was crowded during the searing step, kind of steamed instead of seared
good looking mama but she eats meat………oh noooooooooo
just made this recipe for dinner tonight and it was great!! the only tweaks I'd make: first, put in the meat in batches rather than all at once, so it can properly caramelize. I also added a splash or two of worshestrire sauce, and another splash or two of wine than originally called for đ I served this over some mashed potatoes. it was a very thick and hearty meal, perfect for this time of year. TONS of leftovers!
I think 2 hours is way too long. A good deal of the broth boils away.
Is the red wine, cooking or just regular wine?

That is beef soup because it has thin broth. Stew has more of a gravy consistency about KFC thickness.

Can I replace the tomato paste to half a can of canned tomatoes? I really liked the tomato taste. Might serve that to pasta as well!

Serving this on top of a bowl of rice makes it feel more of a complete meal instead of just a stew and it makes it last longer than a day… If you're lucky ;D
I agree don't drain the flavors keep them
I like my veg to be the same size to not to big either my potatoes I mix up the sizes tho so I can mush them down a little bit the starch helps the stew thicken up a bit then aswell as the gravy granules.
