Abbey's Easy 200 Calorie Snack Recipes on the Marilyn Denis Show

Abbey Sharp teaches you her three favourite snacks under 200 calories.
First, she shows you how to make her crispy chickpeas if you’re craving something crispy and salty. You pan fry them in a bit of olive oil with cumin and chili and a pinch of salt. Then you pop them under the broiler until they get golden and crispy. The result is 1/2 cup for 175 calories, 6 grams of fibre and 7.5 grams of protein.

Next, if you crave salty and sweet combo, you can try making my Tropical Quinoa Bites. This includes quinoa, coconut, almond butter, honey, flax, and freeze dried mango. The recipe makes 32 balls, and a 2 ball servings is 166 calories with 5 grams each of fibre and protein.

Finally, if you crave something creamy like ice cream, you can make my Cottage Cheese ice cream. You simply mix 2/3 cup low sodium cottage cheese with 1 cup frozen berries in a food processor until smooth. The entire recipe is 189 calories, 5 grams of fibre and 19 grams of protein.
