Chinese food is my absolute favourite but, being on a very low carb, low fat diet ruled out this takeaway treat. So, I devised my own version of it! Very simple, easy recipe which can be done on a budget. I look forward to this every time I make it, so hope you enjoy it as much as me!

    My Grocery Outlet (US store) has a pack of marinated teriyaki tofu ready-to-eat for $0.99! I’m going to use that with this recipe 💞 and make plenty so it lasts me 3-5 meals. I’ll refrigerate the second one and freeze the rest so I can have it in two weeks, if it lasts that long!
    Instead of the chili sauce (which sounds awesome) I mix a little peanut butter and soy sauce, heat it up and drizzle it so it feels REALLY great and treat-like. About the same amount as your chili sauce.

    Think about sesame seeds and green onions as a garnish! That’s what screams “Chinese Take Out” to me.

  • My fave flavours that are low carb/sugar/fat are chilli, cayenne pepper, garlic, onion powder, soy sauce, masala, any other curry powders, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, pepper and shitloads of himalayan rock salt! I have a habit of keeping all of these by the stove and using all of them at once on stirfried veg and meat! x

  • That looks yummy Z – apart from the prawns! I live mostly on veg, so i'd love to see any of your recipes for veggie meals! How about a dairy-free cauliflower cheese? Or a vegetable lasagne, without the pasta & any dairy in the sauce etc? Since watching your video about carbs, i've cut out rice, and lost half a stone! (I used to eat rice and vegetables a lot) So many thanks for that excellent bit of advice! Looking forward to your next video! 🙂 xxx
