This is a green juice I make as a Type 1 Diabetic almost every day for breakfast. It’s healthy, it’s fresh, tasty and full of vitamins and minerals… a bomb of nutritional awesomeness! It has very little affect on my blood sugar and is outbalanced perfectly by my long acting insulin after my morning workout.

This green juice makes me quite satisfied for a long time and is a perfect start on my days in my diabetes life!

It’s such a healthy green juice because it contains:

Spinach: Extremely high nutritional value and is rich in antioxidants. Good source of vitamins A, B2, C and K, and also contains magnesium, manganese, folate, iron, calcium and potassium.

Parsley: High amounts of Vitamin K, A, C, Folate, Iron and Magnesium. Helps to lower blood sugar levels.

Celery: Its nutrients can prevent Type 2 Diabetes. High in Riboflavin, Vitamin B6, Pantothenic Acid, Calcium, Magnesium and Phosphorus, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate, Potassium and Manganese.

Lemon: Good source of Folate and Potassium, and a very good source of Vitamin C. Lemon juice helps Type 1 Diabetics to lower blood sugar and increase insulin sensitivity and it’s also a great weight loss remedy.

Ginger: Breaks down glycogen so it decreases blood sugar. Good source of Vitamin C, Magnesium, Potassium, Copper and Manganese.

Cucumber: Good source of Vitamin A, Pantothenic Acid, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Manganese, and a very good source of Vitamin C, Vitamin K and Potassium.

Apple: Contains soluble fiber which makes them release sugar into the blood stream more slowly, giving you a smoother glucose blood sugar curve. Good amounts of dietary fiber and vitamin C.

Avocado: Healthy fats, may improve insulin sensitivity and improves heart health. Lots of fiber to counter carbs and helps the body absorb nutrients better. Full of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin K and Folate.
